Occurrence
A coverage trigger: the policy that applies is the one in force when the injury or damage happens.
What it means
CG 00 01 is occurrence GL. CG 00 02 is claims-made. Most small-business GL is occurrence. Claims-made needs a retroactive date and often tail coverage when you switch carriers.
Why it shows up
If someone asks “is this occurrence or claims-made?” they are reading the form number, not the brochure.
What to look for
- CG 00 01 versus CG 00 02
- Retroactive date on claims-made
- Umbrella following the same trigger
Coverbird reads the declarations and form schedule on the PDF you already have. It does not sell insurance or say whether a limit is enough.
