Claims-made
A coverage trigger: the policy that applies is the one in force when the claim is made, subject to a retroactive date.
What it means
Professional liability, some cyber, and CG 00 02 use claims-made. Gaps happen when you change carriers without matching the retro date or buying an extended reporting period.
Why it shows up
Gyms buying professional liability for trainers, and any business buying D&O or EPLI, will see this wording.
What to look for
- Retroactive date
- Extended reporting period
- Prior-acts limitations
Coverbird reads the declarations and form schedule on the PDF you already have. It does not sell insurance or say whether a limit is enough.
