Professional liability
Coverage for advice, design, instruction, or professional services—usually not in a standard GL form.
What it means
GL often excludes professional services (CG 21 16 and similar). Trainers, inspectors, and consultants need a separate professional form or a GL endorsement that buys back a slice of it. Coverbird will surface the exclusion when the form number is on the policy; it will not tell you to buy E&O.
Why it shows up
Gyms, consultants, and some home-service trades get this question from landlords and franchisors.
What to look for
- CG 21 16
- A standalone professional policy
- Claims-made retro date
Coverbird reads the declarations and form schedule on the PDF you already have. It does not sell insurance or say whether a limit is enough.

Language that takes a type of injury, damage, or activity out of the insuring agreement.
- Claims-made
A coverage trigger: the policy that applies is the one in force when the claim is made, subject to a retroactive date.
