CA 00 01

Business Auto Coverage Form

Edition in catalog: 10 13 · base

What this number is

CA 00 01 is the business auto coverage form. Covered autos are defined by symbols on the declarations (owned autos, hired autos, non-owned autos, specifically described vehicles).

What it changes on a policy

The form is the liability, physical damage, and related auto coverage chassis. Whether an employee’s personal car on a job errand, a rented box truck, or a scheduled van is covered depends on the symbols and endorsements attached to this form.

What it does not do

It does not automatically cover mobile equipment that belongs under GL, and it does not add a lessor as additional insured unless CA 20 01 or a similar endorsement is present.

Where it shows up

Commercial auto declarations show coverage symbols next to liability and physical damage. The form schedule lists CA 00 01 plus hired-auto, additional-insured, and MCS-90-type endorsements when they apply.

What to look for

  • Symbol 1 (any auto) versus 7, 8, 9 combinations
  • Hired autos and non-owned autos listed separately
  • Lessor additional insured / loss payee if you lease vehicles

Coverbird reads the declarations and form schedule on the PDF you already have. It does not sell insurance or say whether a limit is enough.
